The FFA will be selling Jonagold apples on Tuesday, October 13th from 3:00 to 4:00 in the west teachers parking lot at the red trailer. Come to conferences and buy apples:)

Reminder: JSH parent-teacher conferences are tonight and tomorrow from 3:30 to 7:15 PM. Parents received an email last week to schedule slots from 3:30 to 6:15 PM. Drop-in times without appointments are from 6:15 to 7:15 PM each night.

The Ionia County Sheriff's Office  will be using the JSH auxiliary gym for a physical training exercise on Friday, October 9th from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  There should be no impact on the instructional day. 
There may be a police vehicle presence on campus. There is no cause for alarm.

David Highway is currently closed from Jordan Lake Road to Jackson Road until further notice. This will impact parents picking up students from SCS and students transporting themselves home from school. Please plan an alternate route. The SCS transportation department will contact those parents whose children's bus routes are impacted. Drive safely!

Up to 4,000 children will have the opportunity to take home two free books Sept. 26 as the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP) brings a Scholastic Book Fair to Doodle Street at ArtPrize in Grand Rapids.

The book fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Grand Rapids Downtown Market, 435 Ionia Ave. SW. The first 4,000 children who attend can choose up to two free books to take home as part of ArtPrize’s Doodle Street, an immersive experience featuring hands-on art, fun activities, and other experiences for children and families.

Giveaway: The first 4,000 children will receive two free books, while supplies last.

Tomorrow, the varsity football team will face Fowler at 7:00 PM. Both teams are 4-0, so this should be an exciting game! We expect large crowds. Please remember that students in grade K-6 should be accompanied by an adult at all times. All students should either be in the stands or at concessions when appropriate. Roughhousing and games on the hill are discouraged. Thank you for your help!

Students should not be exiting the stadium and should not be in the adjoining wooded areas. Some of those are private property.

The FFA will be selling Honeycrisp apples on Tuesday, September 29 from 3:00 to 4:30 PM in the west teachers' parking lot by the red trailer.

Hi friends!
We are looking for help to find Jean a new host family. He’s attending Saranac HS. He has joined the football team and is loving it and the Saranac community!
He is making friends and is well liked.
His temporary family has nothing but good things to say about him. He is helpful and talkative.

Our painting students are off to a fantastic start this term! Mrs. Wallner states that they are currently mastering the art of underpainting, a foundational technique used to build rich structure and depth before adding layers of color. It is wonderful to see their creativity and technical skills developing so quickly.

Thank you to Daniele Reisbig from Gift of Life Michigan, who presented to our sophomore Biology classes on organ and tissue donation today. Students learned about the process and even handled preserved organs!
