The Saranac FFA will be selling honeycrisp apples grown at the MSU AgBioResearch Center in Clarksville. Apples will be sold for $1.00 per pound. Sale is on Tuesday, 9/19 from 3-4 pm by the red trailer in the fron JSH parking lot. Thank you for your support!

Saranac Community Schools is pleased to introduce Mr. Norm Day. Norm will be working in our custodial, maintenance, and transportation departments. Norm has four kids who have graduated from, or currently attend, Saranac Community Schools. Please join us in welcoming Norm Day to the Saranac Community Schools family.


We are currently looking for more substitute teachers and paraprofessionals to work with students in our district. You can check out the website or call one of our schools for additional information.


Saranac Community Schools is so grateful for its students, staff, parents, and community. The support we received after last week's storm was amazing.
Thank you to Pinckney Hill Meat for allowing us to use your coolers and freezers. This allowed us to keep our food cold and frozen. We also appreciate the football team for moving the food from place to place.
The Cross-Country team and parents cleared the cross-country course and areas around the district. The support is always truly amazing.
Lastly, we are very thankful for the patience and understanding of everyone. This has been an eventful start to the school year.

The 2023-24 school year will officially start Tuesday, August 29th. Tuesday will be a 1/2 day, as was originally scheduled for today. The school has power, communications, and minimal disruptions to local roadways. The district will do its best to contact any affected families with transportation disruptions.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we have been working through the effects of last week's storm.
Again, the upcoming schedule is:
Tuesday, August 29th, 1/2 of school. (JSH dismissal at 10:55, Elementary at 11:00)
Wednesday, August 30th, Full day of school

Friday, September 1st, and Monday, September 4th, No school for the Labor Day holiday.

OPEN HOUSE – Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023
In order for you and your child to get acquainted with your new teacher and classroom, the staff will be available for you to stop in from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm. You are welcome and encouraged to bring any school supplies to place in your child’s desk at this time.
Representatives from the Food Service, Transportation Department, and the PTSO will be available for questions.
The office staff will also be available for any documentation still needed for registration or dropping off medication.


Saranac Community Schools is pleased to introduce Mr. Brian Powell. Mr. Powell is a graduate of MSU and CMU. Brian will be teaching middle school math and brings many years of experience. Mr. Powell is a proud 1989 Saranac graduate and his sons both graduated from Saranac as well. Please join us in welcoming home Mr. Brian Powell to the Saranac Community Schools family.


Saranac Community Schools is pleased to introduce Kelly Reeve. Ms. Reeve is a graduate of GVSU and has taught special education since 2013. She will be teaching in the resource room at Saranac Elementary. Kelly brings quality experiences and a wealth of knowledge. Please join us in welcoming Kelly Reeve to the Saranac Community Schools family.


Students enrolled in dual-enrollment classes through MCC, please be aware that MCC's start date is 8/21. This is one week ahead of Saranac's start date. This includes online and in-person classes. Please contact your professor and/or Mr. Eisen for questions or assistance.


Spirit Club will be meeting this Friday, August 11th at 11:00 AM in the commons area to prepare for fall sports season. We will address themes for home events, the Homecoming Spirit Stick competition, and the first day of school. All high school students are welcome to attend.


Thank you and congratulations to SJSH sophomore, Irelynn Pachulski, who completed her Eagle Scout project in July. Irelynn's project organized, cleaned and renovated the SJSH athletic stadium barn. The barn is used by the band, football and track and field programs. Great job!

BT4S will be giving out backpacks and school supplies on Aug. 3, from 2-4 PM in the Saranac Community Church parking lot.
Tentatively, they also plan to do this again on Aug. 17.
