Tuesday, all JSH students attended a presentation coordinated by Ms. Heidi Cole-Canfield, parent advocate, and Ionia County Sheriff's Office detectives Phil Hesche and Chelsea Kasul, that featured Mr. John Demay. Mr. Demay lost his son Jordan to suicide as a result of an online sextortion scam in 2022. The presentation focused on how to avoid these situations and how to respond if students become involved. Ms. Cole-Canfield also presented a video on the Michigan G.H.O.S.T. team's efforts to target child sexual predators and human trafficking. This is part two of a series to combat online dangers to teens. Thank you to this team for their efforts!
