For the past 21 years, the JSH has spent the last afternoon before Christmas Break enjoying the musical and dancing talents of high school students at Mock Rock. Mock Rock started as a lip-syncing competition and has evolved into a musical competion much like American Idol.
This year, the competition and a $100 prize was won by Madison Trahan, who sang the song "Stay" by Rhiannna. Second place and $50 was won by Natalie Schrock, and Travis Whipple and Aidan Jackson finished third, earning $25.
Student council members, Abby Janson and Kayla Sterzick were the host of the event, proving introductions and comic relief.
Thank you so much to Mrs. Diana Smith for coordinating this event for 21 years! Thank you to the judges, Mrs. Young, Mrs. Wernet, and Mr. Leader, and thank you to Mr. Silvernail for running the sound and lights. Most of all, thank you to the wonderful performers and the student body for their amazing support of the artists!
