Today, select juniors who scored at or above national average on the SAT in April were exempted from their end-of-year exams. Instead, these students, as part of the group (Students With a Goal, or SWAG), lead Mrs. Thomas's 4th grade class in service projects and team-building activities, including the repainting of the Michigan mural in the elementary school parking lot and creating "doggie bags" with homemade dog treats for pups at the Ionia County Animal Shelter.
The group enjoyed lunch together and popsicles at the end of the day. Thank you to Mrs. Smith and Mr. Eisen for leading the group, as well as parent and staff assistance from Mrs. Wernet, Mrs. VanProoyen, and Mrs. Garn.
